Doesnt work as advertised! Beware!

It only amplifies local sounds and even that with a lot of white noise. It doesnt work as advertised, dont waste your money.

good but theres no way to record

catch a lot of little sounds that wouldnt be earable but theres no way to record and playback something.

Junk

Total waste of time

Looks cool, works cool too!

Just got this app. It sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun to use, and it is. It looks very cool...nice graphics, and couldnt be easier to use. It caught the sound of some birds in my backyard, and some kids playing outside. I just played with the settings and volume and was able to hear things that were far away. Nice job!

Works better than i expected

I was a little skeptical at first, sounded too awesome to be true. But once i downloaded it, it worked just like they promised and i found so many great uses for it... i can have my friends whisper the answers on tests! Its just great, worked better then i expected. Also the graphics are very good, clean and simple to use.. just the way i like it!

It works and its surprisingly fun!

Fun and easy to use, it really does help me hear interesting sounds I wouldn’t otherwise notice. A great app to help adults and kids become more aware of whats happening around them. Easily worth the fee.

Amplitude

I have a new iPod touch, and amplitude doesnt work at all! Maybe I misread the devices it is supposed to work on, but it sure doesnt work on mine.

Awesome

This totally helped me hear things that Im sure others wished that I hadnt! Can get a little loud at times, but hey, thats what its supposed to do, and is easliy controlled. Very fun to play with.

Clever and useful

Think of this as a preamp for the iPhone microphone. Im a musician and Ive actually made some cool recordings using this app, by patching the headphone out into a recorder. The iPhone mic is a bit limiting in terms of low frequencies, but this is not Amplitudes faul. My only wish is that the signal didnt get so noisy on the more sensitive settings. Great app though! Nice work.

Awesome! iPhone version of iSpy!

This application is absolutely amazing. I was able to use it in the lecture hall to hear the guy talking who didnt have a microphone. Fabulous product!

Good

Works well ish had a few proba though gettin it 2 wurk 50-50tht it works on iPod I had troubles with it....

Very awful

I hated this thing. It was very awful..usually everything i buy on the apps work but this didnt. I couldnt hear nothing! Im very dissappointed with this!

Great app for only 99 cents!

Try it youll love it. Every thing is amplified. Youll be amazed at how well this works. I can hear the birds and listen in on conversations and it looks like Im listening to music.

Works Great with earbuds that do not have a microphone!

The first time I tried this app, it didnt seem to work. I was adjusting the volume and the mirophone gain to its maximum levels, but I could not hear sounds from far away. Sounds from nearby were amplified, though. I read through the instructions, the description, and then realized that the developers of the app were assuming that the phones microphone was the one that would be picking up the sound. I switched to another pair of earbuds that I use with my ipod and it worked! So a message to the developers of the app. Please let people know that they have to use a headset/earbuds that do not have a microphone built in. Since everyone with an iPhone may be using accessories that come with a built-in mic, like the earbuds that come with the phone, this can cause confusion. Otherwise, I can hear conversations across the room, in other offices, and was able to pick up sounds from a busy starbucks. Totally awesome app.

Mr. Happy

This application is amazing. I cant speak for others experiences, but I am hearing impaired, and I have paid over 75$ for electronic equipment that worked half as well so that I could watch a movie with my loved ones without hurting their ears. I will not longer have to constantly ask my wife, what did they say, what did they say, what did they say! Every 10 seconds. I cant afford 5,000 for hearing aids and have tried several alternatives that are bulky, and effected by movement. My Thanks to the Developers, this is a great application, thank you for making such a great hearing enhancement application! The only thing I cant believe is that you sell such a wonderful thing for a buck! Forever Greatful! Mr. Happy

Amplifies normal sound

You cant use this app to pick up distant sounds as much as it helps to amplify normal range. Worked great for mostly deaf person to watch a movie in the theatre :)

Dont bother

Waste of money. As reported by others it seemed to lower the volume in the room. I wasnt even able to hear my own heartbeat with it. FAIL!!!

Turn up the volume on the iPhone/iPod Touch, not just on the screen!

This product works as advertised and works well, contrary to several of the reviews stating that the sound is no louder with the app than it is in free air. The developers are now recommending that the user use earphones without a built-in mike, but they are completely failing to point out that you have to use the volume control on the side of your iPhone or iPod Touch to first set the volume! Instead, they offer what appears to be a volume control on the front panel of the virtual device, seducing people into thinking thats the only control necessary. To use this app, turn the iPhone or iPod Touchs own built-in physical volume control 50% to 75% of the way up, and then use the "Microphone Boost" slider to zero in on your desired volume. With the phones volume sufficiently raised, this app is extremely loud! The app appears on the screen upside-down to force you to turn the phone around so the microphone, normally pointing down, is pointing up. Keep that in mind when setting the volume: With the phone upside down, up is volume-down and down is volume-up. (The developers do tell you, in the instructions, to adjust the volume of the "device," but fail to point out they are talking about the piece of hardware in question--an iPhone or iPod Touch--rather than the virtual device on your screen, as a user might naturally assume. They could have saved themselves a lot of bad reviews if they had just done the most minimal usability testing. Handing this app to a non-technical person with the iPhones volume most of the way down as a starting point would have made the problem instantly clear. Five minutes, one person, zero dollars. They would have then had the instructions poll for the name of "the device" and tell the user, "Turn up the volume using the regular volume control on the side of your iPhone....)"

Very disappointing
